The Back Project is an extension of Core Health Darien which is primarily a chiropractic office. The chiropractic connection leads to confusion in some people’s minds that chiropractic care is all alike. The distinction between Core Health Darien and The Back Pain Project is that there is more non-chiropractic therapy offered by the Back Pain Project. The goal of The Back Pain Project is to offer lasting relief to people who suffer from chronic lower back pain.
People who may have tried surgery and have not found relief would be great candidates for the Back Pain Project. Those who have not found help with traditional chiropractic care for their back problems are great candidates for relief. The same goes for failed physical therapy treatments. The program lasts about 12 weeks and requires 2 visits per week. As with many treatments, there are no guarantees of results. In fact, the patient needs to set appropriate goals that are mutually acceptable to the doctor and patient. The goals must be reasonable in the eye of the doctor.
A patient’s willingness to exercise outside the office is required for any chance of success in eliminating lower back pain. We want the patient to be pain-free. However, with chronic conditions, you can expect setbacks at various times. Exercise is the best way to prevent relapses. Even then occasional back pain is still possible. We want to make a dramatic difference in patients’ quality of life. Less pain, better sleep, and a more active lifestyle are only scratching the surface of what the Back Pain Project is all about.
The Back Pain Project uses several different modalities each visit to reach our patients’ goals. We have found that there is no single answer to chronic lower back pain. The numerous therapies include Active Release Technique
Hako-Med Electroceutical pain management
Back on Trac 4th generation spinal decompression
Graston to decrease adhesions in the muscles
Home Exercises
